Unity College:

Brief Description: Small, private, liberal arts college built on the wooded farmland of Unity, Maine.

High Honors: In 2009, Unity College was named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition of excellence in service-learning and volunteer efforts available to U.S. colleges or universities.

Green Learning: Known as “America’s Environmental College”, Unity is committed to environmental education. Students looking to land a job in an aquarium, zoo or wildlife refuge after graduation appreciate the Unity’s internship program, too.

Fun Fact: Unity offers certifications necessary for jobs in the great outdoors, including education required for an entry-level position in the U.S. Forest Service or as a whitewater rafting instructor.


Texas A&M University:  

Brief Description: Public research university located in College Station, Texas with a student body   of nearly 40,000 each year.

High Honors: The Princeton Review recently named “The Battalion” – the university’s student newspaper – the #5 Best College Newspaper in the country.

Student Soldiers: Although membership in the A&M Corps of Cadets is now voluntary, the university’s establishment as a military institution in 1876 continues to influence the school’s development and culture. A&M’s Corps currently comprise the largest group of uniformed students enrolled outside of the country’s military academies.

Fun Fact: Texas A&M operates the state’s only College of Veterinary Medicine.
