President & Chief Executive Officer
Becky Sharpe maintains 100% ownership of ISTS and is responsible for providing a productive environment for ISTS staff, exceptional overall service to clients and a long term vision for the company. Sharpe joined ISTS –previously named Scholarship Program Administrators, Inc. (SPA) – in July 2002 and served as President and Partner until purchasing the company from founder Nyles Ayers in 2008. Prior to her career at ISTS, Sharpe was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Optimum Solutions, Inc. from 1991-2002.
Sharpe holds a Bachelor of Arts in German and Master’s degree in International Marketing, both from Vanderbilt University. She is an active member of Vistage International and Big Brothers/Big Sisters and enjoys international cooking, travel and participating in triathlons. Sharpe resides in Nashville with her husband and three children.
Chief Operating Officer
Bob Miller is responsible for all operations and information technology-related projects and tasks for ISTS, including infrastructure management, software development, internal and external networking and data security. Before joining ISTS in September 2010, Miller was Chief Technology Officer for Magazines.com (2004-2010), Vice President of IT for the Shop at Home Network (1999-2004) and Senior Programmer at Telco Research (1994-1999) and Ingram Book Company (1988-1994).
Miller graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He enjoys playing golf, spending time with his wife and son and watching classic movies.
Chief Marketing Officer
Lawrence Dresdner currently directs all ISTS marketing and sales efforts and oversees promotional campaigns for many of the programs we manage. Dresdner brings a diverse knowledge set and expertise from more than 10 years of experience within the hotel industry. Most recently, he served as the Marketing Manager for the Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort in Puerto Rico during his five-year tenure at Tishman Construction and Realty. Dresdner was able to hone his skills in data analysis, sales database management, promotions, public relations and direct sales – as well as traditional and internet-based marketing – through his other roles with Tishman as Sales Reporting Systems Analyst and Marketing Associate.
Dresdner earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from Tulane University in 2002 and a Master’s degree in Brand Management and Entrepreneurship from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management in 2009. In his free time, he enjoys boating, golf and photography. Dresdner, a native of Florida, now makes his home in Nashville with his wife and two children.
Chief Financial Officer
Kyle Watson guides all internal and program-related finance operations for ISTS, with an emphasis on budgeting and financial analysis to boost efficiency and profitability. Watson, a Certified Public Accountant, joined ISTS in October 2012 with nearly ten years of accounting and audit experience, including positions with Frasier, Dean & Howard, PLLC and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama. Most recently, he served as Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis for Healthways, Inc. In addition to his responsibilities at ISTS, Watson serves as Treasurer for Punctum Media, a nonprofit media production organization.
Originally from Missouri, Watson earned a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Harding University in Arkansas and now resides in Murfreesboro, TN with his wife and three children. He enjoys road and mountain biking and spending time with family.
Financial Services Manager
Michael Sharpe manages invoicing, account reconciliation, payroll and investment responsibilities for ISTS. Prior to joining ISTS in 2004, he spent several years as a City Planning Consultant and Financial Planner in Middle Tennessee.
Sharpe received his undergraduate degree in Sociology and Economics from Vanderbilt University and his Master’s degree in City Planning from the University of Tennessee. While his primary passion is playing classic rock guitar, Sharpe also enjoys running, travel and listening to live music. He and Becky live in Nashville with their three children.
Vice President of Customer Care
Jose Resendiz assumed the position of Vice President of Customer Care for ISTS in February 2011 and currently oversees the day-to-day operation of all customer care divisions as well as ISTS’ internal call center that provides phone and e-mail-based support services to applicants, parents and others with program-related inquiries. Resendiz brings more than 20 years of experience in the industry to his role at ISTS, having managed technical training, end-user training, software implementation and customer service. Most recently, Resendiz was the Director of Customer Care for Symphony Services, a global software company specializing in expense management solutions.
Resendiz speaks English, Spanish and French and holds an AAS degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. Resendiz lives with his wife and three children in Nashville and spends his free time watching football and volunteering at his family’s church.
Vice President of Sales
Eric Wilner manages contract dialogue, program development and program enhancements for current ISTS clients. He focuses on integrating a consultative approach into the sales process in order to determine the best strategy to meet a client’s expectations and enable a long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationship. Wilner received a Bachelor of Business Studies degree in Finance from Wichita State University in 1986 and has worked in a variety of environments throughout his 25-year career, including sales positions within the Financial Aid and Banking industries. Before taking over the Sales department at ISTS in 2008, he was Vice President of Sales for Student Loan Xpress, a CIT Group Company.
When he is not cheering on his youngest daughter as she competes in collegiate softball, Wilner likes to read and play golf. He and his wife reside in St. Peter, Minnesota where they raised their three grown daughters.
