University of Notre Dame:

Brief Description: Coed, private Catholic college located near South Bend, Indiana. Founded in 1842, the campus features Gothic architecture and a park-like landscape with two lakes.

High Honors: Tuition to attend Notre Dame is high (around $53,000 per year) but so is financial support – on average, the school is able to meet 99% of a student’s financial need. Freshman satisfaction and graduation rates are also above 90%.
Luck of the Irish: With 26 athletic teams on its roster, Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish have produced the second highest number of Academic All-American athletes among Division 1 colleges and universities within the NCAA.

Fun Fact: The University’s minority population has tripled over the past two decades and women now account for nearly half of overall enrolled students, despite only being eligible for admittance since 1972. Notre Dame attracts students from more than 42 countries, too.
