Pencils, pens, paper and more! Back to school means sales galore!

Can you believe summer break came and went just like that?

Before you head out on your shopping trip remember these tips.

1. Start at home

Old school supplies work the same! Check around the house to see what you already have from last year. That 50 pack of pens couldn’t have completely vanished over a year.

2. Make a list

Make a list to help guide you on your shopping trip. This way you know exactly what you are going to shop for. This way you won’t buy items you already have at home or forget anything you really need.

3. Stick to the list

Avoid impulse buys. Sure 1000 staples for $1 sounds useful, but if you submit most of your assignments online do you really need them? Items are strategically placed in stores to make you want to buy them.

4. Coupon

Why not save extra money when you can? Check your Sunday paper for coupons from manufacturers and chain stores. In addition, most stores like Target and Dollar General have their own mobile apps to add on extra savings. If you are an online shopper check sites like Honey, Ebates, Unidays, and Retailmenot for online coupons, rebates and cashback deals.

5. Price match

Most stores do some sort of price match guarantee. If you find an item at a lower price at another store you can pay the lower price at the register when you present the ad to the cashier.

Tip: Look for the same item online while in the store.
